Renovations That Will Actually Add Value To Your Home
When you’re selling your home, you want it to appraise for as much as possible. Enter, the remodels. But even if you don’t plan on selling anytime soon, don’t you deserve an upgrade? Home renovation can add a lot of value but also be a lot of work. Here are some things to keep in mind if you want to get the most out of your upcoming renovations.

Remodel the Kitchen
A popular update is the kitchen. Investing in new appliances to have a top of the line kitchen is safe bet. Energy efficient ones is even better. This could be the selling point for your home. Fresh paint and refinished cabinets can also go a long way.
Add an Extra Bathroom
No one ever complained about too many bathrooms, so why not? Having a half bath near your living area is a great idea for guests. It’s also something that a lot of homebuyers are looking for. No one wants their dinner guests to have to trek through their room to find the bathroom.
Reinvent Rooms
Make the most out of what you have. Try out some new furniture for extra storage space. Have some pieces built specifically for a room, like corner shelving or an in-wall unit for a TV. This, as opposed to big clunky shelving units, will open the room up. The goal is to make the room look as big as possible. Lighter paint colors feel more open and make sure you’re not blocking any windows.
Energy Efficiency
Like I said, energy efficiency is always a plus. Modern homes are open and airy so try to be green. The more windows you have, the more energy it takes for heating and air. Do it for the long run savings and, of course, the tax credit. Try energy star windows for your home.
Add a Deck
Having an outdoor space makes your home more valuable. Families, especially, will appreciate the extra space for entertaining. It looks great and saves the perspective homebuyers a lot of work in the future.
Insulation
Insulating troublesome areas of your home is a must. You need to have your windows and doors insulated properly as well as any areas of your home that have wires or ducts.
All of these remodeling tips are sure to add value to your home. If you have the funds, it would be worth it to tackle at least one big project before putting your house on the market. It would give you a great selling point to make your house stand out against the rest. So don’t hesitate, renovate!
