Step Up Your Curb Appeal
Whether you want to sell your home or just impress your neighbors, it’s important to add curb appeal to your home. It might sound a little daunting at first, but all you really need is a little imagination. Use these tips ad tricks to make your house stand out from the rest.
Edge The Driveway: This brings an elegant look to your home and makes it instantly more appealing. All you have to do is to place some interesting materials, such as stone or bricks, and lay them out along the asphalt. This will create a new and improved drive way unique to your home.
Add Lights To The Sidewalk: This is a very simple trick that not only makes your sidewalk look amazing, but it also helps guests by guiding them safely to your door at night. It make your home look more approachable and safe.
Upgrade Your Hardware: No I’m not talking about technology here. I’m talking about those dingy doorknobs and rusty handles. Your home may have a few years under its belt but try not to show it. Upgrade the dated hardware for a more modern appeal. This can be a relatively inexpensive fix that will make a world of a difference.
Paint The Front Door: Add a pop of color to your home by painting the front door. This will definitely make a lasting impression of passerby’s. If color sounds a little too daring, just give a fresh coat of a minimalistic neutral. Covering up those scratches and scraps will give the impression of a well maintained home.
Replace Your Mailbox: For better or for worse, your mailbox may be the first thing someone sees as they search for your house on the street. Remember to keep it simple. If you’re trying to sell your home, a large obnoxious mailbox might scare someone off. Keep it understated and make sure you match the style of your home. Adding some plants or flowers near the base is also a nice touch.
Plant Flowers: Planting flowers is a great way to improve the curb appeal, so it doesn’t matter if you place them near the sidewalk, inside flower boxes or in vases, just make sure that you have some. This is a great chance to add some color and keep it visually interesting with little effort.
Update Your Garage Door: Looks are everything so even if replacing the garage door is out of the question, make sure you at least spruce them up. Paint them a vibrant color or create an interesting texture.
Trim The Hedges: Sometimes, improving the curb appeal of a home is all about making sure that it looks clean and neat. Cutting back the bushes and trees will make the home feel more open and welcoming.
With just a few simple changes, you can easily improve the curb appeal of your home. Give some of these suggestions a shot and you are bound to turn some heads.
